How do you say goodbye to someone that means the world to you. I found out a week ago today that my cute, loving, sweet grandma had a heart attack. The doctor said that only 15% of her heart is working so he doesn't know how long she has. He said it could be today it could be another year. None of us think she will last that long, unfortunately. I had to wait a horribly long week to see her. Because of school starting, work, and other obligations I was not able to get up there until Saturday. All week I felt anxious. I just wanted the chance to see her one last time, tell her how much she means to me, and how much I love her. Luckily, I was able to make it and I had a wonderful time with her.My Grandma, like I said above, is the most loving, sweetest, cutest person I know. Growing up all of us grand kids thought each one of us was her favorite. She has a way of making everyone of us feel special. When we had the chance to stay with her by ourselves or with one other cousin she would spoil us rotten. Every morning we would get breakfast in bed.
Grandma has spent her life doing so much for others. She is such an example to me. When she was 18 years old she joined the church and moved out west all by herself. Her family didn't actually disown her but they weren't very supportive about her decision to be baptized. I can't imagine how hard that must have been for her to leave the life she knew behind for the unknown. Her testimony is so strong still today it is the thing that defines her.
While I was with her she kept telling me that she is ready to go. She is not afraid and is excited to see my Grandpa, her parents and siblings that have gone before her. I know it is time for her to go, she is 92 years old and has had a good life. But part of me is selfish and doesn't want her to leave. I know I will see her again, and I'm grateful for that knowledge. But it could be a long time before I do see her again and I will miss her sweet words, hugs and kisses. So as hard as it will be, I know I will have to say goodbye. But only for a little while. I love you Grandma!!!

Sorry to hear about your Grandma. It's always a sad thing when a loved-one leaves us, whether it's the right time or not.

Grandmas are so special. I wish they never had to leave us.
I am so glad you were able to spend some quality time with her. How neat it must have been to hear her say she is ready and excited. That shows a lot of faith and courage.
