Memorial Day

We made our annual trip up to Logan today to visit the graves of Steve Great-grandparents and grandparents.

We try to always get a few shots in front of the head stone.

Then have a picnic at a park after.

We couldn't get Ryan out of the swing.

My cute night in shining armor.

My cute little girl.

We had to entice Ryan with ice cream finally to get him out of the swing. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.

Chicken Pox

Oh what a week we have had. Monday after school Jakob showed me some bumps on his forehead. I thought they were pimples. Steve said those look like chicken pox to me. I really didn't think so until that night when he showed me all the bumps he had on his back. Then I thought maybe they could be chicken pox. I took him into the doctor the next morning just to make sure. He wasn't any help. He said they looked like chicken pox but since he hadn't had any other symptoms then he wasn't sure. So off to the hospital to have blood drawn for some lab work to be sure. Two days go by we hadn't heard back from the doctor so I call to find out what the results were. I had to leave a message, they called back 6 hours later and talked to Steve (since I was at work) told him that it's not chicken pox because Jakob is immune. So then I had more questions and called to leave another message and told them not to call until I was home. They didn't listen. They called and talked to Steve again. This time saying it is chicken pox. What, are they stupid. I didn't get it. Oh well. Then later that night I went down to check on Jakob. He was in his bed crying because he had a terrible stomach ache. I thought maybe it was his medicine they had him taking. So again I called the doctors office to see if that's what it could be. They call back to ask what the medication is. I told the nurse and she said she needed to check with a doctor and that she would get back with me. Well guess what she did not call me back. Surprise, surprise. I just quit giving Jakob the medicine and after he thew up he was just fine. We'll now that the week is over all is well. I hope it is a long time before I have to take my kids to see another doctor. I'm thinking they are not all that they are cracked up to be. Here are a few shots of his pox. He really didn't have them too bad, I wasn't ever really worried about him I just wanted to be sure of what he had.

Mother's Day

I know I'm a little slow with my mother's day post but Steve didn't put our pictures on the computer until last night, and we all know how computer illiterate I am. I'm at his mercy when it comes to this stuff. Anyways here it is. It was a great day, after church was over. I didn't get my usual breakfast in bed because I was up before everyone in order to be ready for 9:00 church. We couldn't skip like I would have wanted to because I had to teach. Oh what a joy that is. After church I did get to hide out in my room and read and take a very needed nap. The night before Steve and I went out to dinner and then to Tai Pan to buy my mother's day presents. While we were out we stopped by Target and he got me some pretty flowers.

My flowers
That night we went to Steve's parents house for dinner. Here is Steve's oldest sister Julie talking to Alex (their missionary). It was fun that he could call her cell phone and we all had a chance to say hi.

Everyone eating dinner. Always something I look forward to. I don't have to cook and everything is always so yummy.

This is one of my presents we got at Tai Pan.

And here is the other.

This is where we put the canoe looking thing. I love it there. Oh and here is a shot of the new TV.

I just had to throw in a picture of our new couch. I love, love, love it. Now the basement finally fills finished. We are ready to party so come over any time!!!

Pinewood Derby

Jakob had his pinewood derby for scouts last week. The boys always have so much fun, I don't know which ones have more fun, the dad's or the son's. Jakob's car did really well surprisingly he got the track record for the fastest car.

The #17 car is Jakob's, it is suppose to be a bumble bee. Like from transformers.

Here is one of Jakob's races. If you look at the boys in the back you can see Jakob cheering his car on. Soo cute.

Ryan loved watching the cars racing. They had the tables set up to keep everyone away from the track. Ryan stood there the whole time.

Jakob's car also won the Judge's favorite. They liked his yellow wheels.
