Swiss Days

My old college roommates and I made our annual trip up to Midway to Swiss Days today. For those of you that don't know what it is, it is a huge craft fair that they hold every year the weekend before Labor Day. This year it was just Natalie, Brandy, and me. We missed you Lee Ann and Jill. It has been a tradition of ours for the last four years or so to go up there. We have a blast getting up at the crack of dawn and driving up there early to try and beat the crowds. We hit all the booths at Swiss Days and then head over to Park City and go shopping at the outlets. It is a fun filled day and I love spending time with my wonderful friends, shopping and eating lots of great food. What more could a girl ask for!

Here we are waiting in line to get a yummy scone. They are soooo delicious and of course you have to top them off with cinnamon and sugar, jam and honey. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

We always take a few pictures of things that we like to give us ideas for projects that we want to try to take on. This year nothing really jumped out at us. There were a lot of really cute things, as usual.

We stopped in Taggert on the way home and ate lunch at the Taggert Grill. The food is soooo good there.

First Day of School

Well as you all know this past Monday was the first day of school for most kids around Utah. Can I just say hallelujah!!!! I love my kids and we have had a great summer, but I am so glad that they go to public school and I can have a break for 7 hours of the day. They were very excited to meet their new teachers and see which of their friends would be in there class.

Island Park

We just got back from our fun trip to Island Park. Every year my family does a family reunion/trip. We all take our turns planning. This year was my brother Todd's turn. His in-laws have a cabin in Island Park and let all stay there. Well some stayed in the cabin and some of us brought up our tents and trailers. We drove up Sunday Aug. 10th and stayed until Thursday. Monday we drove to Virgina City which is just over a hour away. It is a ghost town.

There was a candy store there, it had rows and rows of candy. Jakob was in Heaven.

We thought it would be fun to do an old fashion picture while we were in the ghost town. Well the girl who took our picture didn't want to listen to anyone in the family and took this lovely shot. Half if the shade and half in the sun. This one has even been touched up by Steve.

Tuesday we just hug around the cabin for most of the day. We had a fun time tie dying t-shirts.

At the end of the day Ryan just needed to cuddle up with a good book! I think he takes after his mom!

Wednesday we went to Yellowstone.

This was the first stop of the day at the hot pots. There was a tree that had fallen over and made for a cute back drop for a picture.

Good ol' Old Faithful

We stopped at the west thumb and it was so cold we had to wrap the kids in a blanket, since we didn't think to bring jackets. This was the closet shot we got of the wild life.

We stopped for dinner at Canyon Village that night. If you look close at my plate of food you will notice that there is an awful lot there. That is the child's portion. Steve said he saw a man with the regular size and it was twice as big as mine. It was good and very filling. Lovely picture of me don't you think! =) This was pretty much the last stop for the day. Thursday morning we just got up and cleaned up camp and headed home. It was a fun trip and great to be with my family!!! Thanks Kellie and Todd for all the time planning and the use of your parents cabin.

Good Things Utah

Today I went with my friend Brandy to Good Things Utah. She has a gal that is in Young Women's with her that works for them, so she got us in along with the girls in their ward. It was fun to be there and see all the things behind the scenes. I really enjoyed watching the show and it was fun meeting the girls. We missed you Lee Ann and Natalie.

My Little Rock Star

Ryan loves to play on the drums and his little play guitar while Jakob and Sara play rock band. Just recently he has started doing some fun actions while he plays. It is too funny to watch him mimic Jakob and Sara. Steve has named their band, "The Ryan Tamers".
