Halloween Party

Last night was our Niederhauser annual Halloween Party. We went over to Steve's brother's house. We had just got there and got one picture of our cute Pirate Family. Ryan in our pirate monkey. We had bought him a monkey costume, but he wouldn't let us put it on him. So I bought him a shirt with a monkey on it. Anyways we got this one picture and then everyone started eating. I had brought apples with carmel dip, so I started cutting the apples with my brand new Pampered Chef apple slicer. Well I couldn't get it to cut through one of the apples so I tured it up side down and tried to help it through. When I did that I sliced into my thumb! It didn't really hurt that bad but it wouldn't stop bleeding. Steve's sister Carrie (who is a nurse) said that I would need stitches. So we called around until we found an instacare that was open and Steve and I left the party.

Here I am waiting while they get all my vitals.

When the doctor came in and looked at my thumb he said I would need stitches but stitches are not good for fingers. He said that where the needle goes in it would leave a scare and when that healed it would feel like I had pebbles in my thumb. So he suggested that he use a special kind of tape on it. I was all for that!!!

They thought we were quite funny in our costumes when we walked in. Oh and if you read my last post I said I wished to have a date night with Steve. Well I got it. Not your normal date but we still had fun being together.

Happy Birthday Steve

Today is Steve's birthday so I wanted to do a post and tell him how much I love him. He is the best husband ever. I know everyone says that their husband is the best but mine really is!!! Here are 5 reasons why I love him.

1. I love Steve because he loves me. I never in a million years thought that I would meet a man as good as Steve and have him love me in return. If any one has read Twilight they will know what I mean when I say he is my Edward. I know corny but true!

2. I love Steve because he makes us laugh. He is the funniest person and always has a smile on his face.

3. I love Steve because he is such a good dad. Steve will drop anything and do anything for our kids. I love the way he interacts with them. He is so good at handling Sara when she is out of control. There are times that I can't handle her so Steve has to step in. He is so good at defusing her and helping me.

4. I love Steve because he is a good provider. I'm greatful that he has a good job so that I can stay home and raise our kids. He has also been working really hard finishing our basement. Every spare minute he is either on the computer looking for things for the basement or he is in the basement working. It will be so nice when that is all done.

5. I love Steve because he is so up to date with technology. I know this one is goofy but he is so smart with computers and what not. I don't know I would do without all of the things he does to make our life easier. I am so computer illerate. Without him I wouldn't have this blog.

Thanks Steve for all you do. I love you!!!!

Genealogy

I was doing some genealogy the other day and stumbled across some pictures of our relatives that looked a little familiar. The resemblance was uncanny so I had to post the pictures.

Just kidding. Steve's friend Mike found a place that you can yearbook yourself. You can pick any year and add your picture. It's was so funny. Steve spent a few hours giving us different looks. These were some of our favorites.

Monday's Memories

Well since Friday we were a little busy and I didn't get around to posting a Flashback Friday. I decided that I would do a Monday's memories. Steve didn't like my made up name but who cares. I wanted an excuse to post these cute Halloween pictures of my darling kids. This one takes us back to 2001. As you can see Jakob is an M & M ( no influence from his mom at all) and Sara was my little angel.

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Today was my birthday. Woo Hoo! =) I usually don't get to excited about getting a year older. But Steve and the kids are sure good about making me feel special on my birthdays. Steve took the day off work so we could spend the day together. When I got up this morning the kids were waiting to give me their presents. I got two bags of candy, Milky Ways dark chocolate and Hershey's dark chocolate nuggets with almonds. Yummy!!! Steve made my favorite breakfast of waffles with strawberries and cool whip on top. I asked the kids to make there beds really good for one of my presents. They came out a few minutes later and wanted me to go and look in my room. They not only made there beds the best they ever had they had gone into my room and made my bed. They did a pretty good job with it. When I was growing up we would ask my mom what she wanted for her birthday. She would always tell us she wanted a clean house. I don't know if we ever did that for her, but I now tell my kids that is what I want. It truly is the best gift ever, to have a clean house and I didn't have to do it!
Steve took me shopping for my birthday present this afternoon. I have wanted a jogging stroller since I had Jakob. I finally decided our old stroller wouldn't make it too much longer and it was time to get a new one. Steve had found one at Target for a pretty good deal so we went to pick it up. I love it! After that we then went to the Dinosaur park. It is amazing how the things we do to celebrate our birthday's change when we have kids. It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun. They had decorated the park for Halloween, it was very festive. After the dinosaur park we went to the Olive Garden to eat. It was so yummy!!! We came home and the kids sang Happy Birthday to me and we had of course chocolate cake. Today was a very fun day and I'm grateful for my sweet little family who made me feel so loved.

Notice the stroller. It is so easy to push. We all had to take a turn pushing it.

My little Picasso

The other day I had turned on Monster's Inc. for Ryan to watch in the kids room while I got some stuff done. After a while I thought boy Ryan is being good and quiet. I went in to check on him and found out why he was so quiet. (See picture below). Not only was the lip gloss all over him but on the dresser, floor, desk and Sara's quilt. Then a few days later the one of the kids left a pencil down where Ryan could reach it. The next picture is the result. Luckily it is only pencil. I still can't get the lip gloss out of the carpet. Any suggestions? Ahh the joys of having a toddler!!!

I didn't yell or anything to spark the crying, all I said was nooooo and he burst into tears. It was funny until I had to clean everything up.

Halloween Flashback Friday

Our friend Jeni did a flashback Friday post of her kids at Halloween last week. I thought it was such a cute and fun idea I had to copy. I chose this one from 2004. As you can see Sara is a bumblebee and Jakob is the Hulk. I picked this one because just a few weeks ago I was going through the kids clothes and old Halloween costumes. Sara saw the bumblebee costume and thought she would try it on. She could still get into it but it didn't fit the same. It was so funny I had to take a picture. When I was looking at the pictures of 2004 we had a short video of Sara singing a Halloween song eating a rice crispy treat. It was so darling I had to post it. It makes me miss my little kids. It's so sad how fast they grow!!

Flashback Friday

I thought it would be fun to post this lovely picture of my family from long ago. Don't we look so cute in our matching outfits. I remember loving that dress and wanting to wear it all the time. I think in this picture my parents are younger then I am now. Isn't that scary!!!

Toothbrush Bandit

This is a picture catching Ryan in the act. For some reason he loves my toothbrush. If ever our bedroom door is left open Ryan will go straight for my top drawer and pull out my toothbrush. It is quite funny. Although my toothbrush is all chewed up, I'm not too happy about that. Oh, well what can you do. Cute little stinker.
