Lava Hot Springs

We just got back from our Niederhauser reunion yesterday.  We went to Lava Hot Springs this year, and I think we all had a good time.

Of course this was the boy's favorite thing they did the whole weekend.

We stayed in a cabin at the KOA.  It had a nice deck with a pretty good view of the river.  That first night we planned on going into town for dinner.  When Steve asked the host at the KOA where a good place to eat was the host told Steve that he made a good pizza.  We tried it out and it was pretty darn good.  It was fun hanging out and eating on our cute deck.

That night we all hung out by Julie and Dave's trailer, talking, playing games and making crafts.

We did our breakfast together of breakfast burritos.  Yum!

We went swimming at the Lava Hot Springs pool for the day.

That night as we were getting ready for dinner we saw something that looked a little familiar. If you look closely you will see our old trailer behind our cabin. Our trailer that we sold last year showed up.  Really it was our trailer.  We went over and talked to the people who bought it.  They are really enjoying it and have gone on quite a few trips this year with it.  I'm glad it's in good hands but it was sad to see it.  We joked that our trailer missed us too. This was our one camping trip of the year and it wanted to be with us. =)

After dinner the kids played a few minute to win it games.

The next morning we checked out of the KOA and went to visit my dad's old stomping grounds.  This Maughan road is named after my Great grandpa JR Maughan and is in Lava Hot Springs.  JR farmed this land behind me and then my grandpa did also.

After that we headed up to Pocatello to see my brother and his family.  The Bannock county fair was going on so we went over and played a few games and won a few prizes.

Pie eating contest.  Jakob won his age group.

We spent most of the afternoon in the SHOW barn.  We came outside to cool off, it was so hot inside.

Jakob's prize of the day.  Bannock county fair shirt, from 2010.  Score!  He can't wait to go back to school and tell all his friends what he did this summer.

A visit to the fair wouldn't be complete without seeing the MONSTER trucks.

We had a fun filled weekend with all of our family.  Now I need a nap.

Reunion's, Girls camp, cousins

Oh what a busy but fun summer we have had.  I was the camp director for girls camp this year so I feel like that has consumed my life for the better part of the summer.  I know this will sound nerdy but I also had a few books on hold at the library that all came in at the same time.  So I had to get a little reading in.  My kids were a little neglected to say the least for about a month or so.  We did manage to make it to Steve's extended Niederhauser reunion that was at the Heber Valley Girls camp.  What a fun place.

After girls camp got over I thought we could now enjoy the summer.  Oh wait summer is over.  Well not quite.  We do have a few weeks left and we are going to live it up the next couple of weeks.  The kids and I headed up to Idaho to be with my family for a few days.  We got to celebrate my mom's birthday, have a tea party, go to a movie, the park, and lunch with my Aunties.

 Don't ask...
