Happy Birthday Sara

My little girl turned 12 this year.  I can't believe what a beautiful young woman she has become.  I think she had a great birthday filled with lost of fun.  It seemed like we celebrated for a couple of weeks with this one.

She started out her day with breakfast in bed.

Opened a few presents.

Had a little cake.

More presents from her activity day leaders.

A room full of balloons.

Dinner at Texas Road House.

A new desk.

Got her ears pierced.

Had a fun birthday party with her friends in Salt Lake at her Aunt Julie's!

Memorial Day

We started our Memorial Day weekend on Sunday and went to my Grandma and Grandpa's graves in Bountiful.

Monday we met up with the Niederhauser's in Logan.  I love this tradition.  We get to remember our loved ones who have passed away and make new memories with our loved ones that are still here.

All the grandkids that were there that day.

It was a little chilly this year.  We are trying to warm up in the sun.

It's not Memorial Day without going to Charlie's for ice cream.

Then off to visit my 4th great grandpa Peter Maughan.

This year we added something new to our day.  We ate at the Fire House pizzeria.  Yummy!!! I had to push the hands away so I could snap this picture.  You put a dessert in front of my family and it's like a magic trick.  You blink and it's gone.

End of May

Jakob was able to finally get his braces.  He has plenty of room in his mouth for his teeth, he just had a little over bite and the orthodontist wanted to bring his teeth closer together.

Before...

After

His dinner a few days later.  He couldn't eat his hamburger without us cutting it up.

Ryan's kindergarten class wrote their own opera and painted their scenery for it also.  I got to help out with the painting.  I was very impressed with how well they did.

I took Sara and a few of her friends to Lagoon for their Dare Lagoon day.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a great day this year.  I was so spoiled.  Steve made me breakfast in bed.

I was happy to have some company while I ate.

Steve also surprised me with tickets to Deer Valley to see the Wicked Divas.  The Wicked Divas were 2 women who have played the witches in Wicked.  It was a great show!  I will post pictures of that later.

Had dinner at Steve's parents of course.

The weekend after Mother's Day I went to Idaho and took our mom for her annual Mother's Day pedicure.

Brave

Sara has taken a theater class the last 2 years through Up With Kids and has absolutely loved it.  This year they did their version of Brave.  I loved watching my little girl step out of her shy little self and become Everdeen, and Giselle.

It may have been a little much for some.  This is my dad and yes he is asleep, and no Sara is not on stage.

Sara had quite the crowd cheering her on.
