Lava Hot Springs

We just got back from our Niederhauser reunion yesterday.  We went to Lava Hot Springs this year, and I think we all had a good time.

Of course this was the boy's favorite thing they did the whole weekend.

We stayed in a cabin at the KOA.  It had a nice deck with a pretty good view of the river.  That first night we planned on going into town for dinner.  When Steve asked the host at the KOA where a good place to eat was the host told Steve that he made a good pizza.  We tried it out and it was pretty darn good.  It was fun hanging out and eating on our cute deck.

That night we all hung out by Julie and Dave's trailer, talking, playing games and making crafts.

We did our breakfast together of breakfast burritos.  Yum!

We went swimming at the Lava Hot Springs pool for the day.

That night as we were getting ready for dinner we saw something that looked a little familiar. If you look closely you will see our old trailer behind our cabin. Our trailer that we sold last year showed up.  Really it was our trailer.  We went over and talked to the people who bought it.  They are really enjoying it and have gone on quite a few trips this year with it.  I'm glad it's in good hands but it was sad to see it.  We joked that our trailer missed us too. This was our one camping trip of the year and it wanted to be with us. =)

After dinner the kids played a few minute to win it games.

The next morning we checked out of the KOA and went to visit my dad's old stomping grounds.  This Maughan road is named after my Great grandpa JR Maughan and is in Lava Hot Springs.  JR farmed this land behind me and then my grandpa did also.

After that we headed up to Pocatello to see my brother and his family.  The Bannock county fair was going on so we went over and played a few games and won a few prizes.

Pie eating contest.  Jakob won his age group.

We spent most of the afternoon in the SHOW barn.  We came outside to cool off, it was so hot inside.

Jakob's prize of the day.  Bannock county fair shirt, from 2010.  Score!  He can't wait to go back to school and tell all his friends what he did this summer.

A visit to the fair wouldn't be complete without seeing the MONSTER trucks.

We had a fun filled weekend with all of our family.  Now I need a nap.
