Out with the old in with the new!

This year has been one hell of a year, pardon my french, in our house hold. It began back in February with my car needing new tires, the metro in multiple times for repairs, Steve's gallbladder surgery, and Sara's braces. I know it's just life to have things like this happen but really, does it all have to happen all in one year. Then in August the metro decided to give up the ghost. Well almost. It got to the point that it would cost us too much to fix it. So we decided it was time for it to go. Because of all the earlier expenses this year money is tight and we really didn't know how we were going to afford a car payment and the other bills we have right now. So as you saw in an earlier post we had to sell our much loved trailer in order to help ease the pain.
So good bye to the metro...

good bye to the trailer...

hello Kia Soul. Steve loves this car!!!! He told me the other day it's been over 16 years since he has loved a car this much.

Then last week we noticed our freezer was not quite freezing like it should. We called in a repair man and he said it was going. The compressor was shot and it would be better for us to just get a new fridge. So last week we headed out to find a new fridge. As much as I didn't like spending the money on a new one, I really do love having it. I love looking at it, inside and out. It sure is pretty!!!

Because the fridge is stainless steel I can no longer put magnets on it. So I had to hang up my magnet board that my friends and I made years ago. It has been sitting under my bed unpainted all this time. Why? I don't know I just never got around to finishing it. Along with mine I made one for Sara so I had to paint hers also. So even though this has been a tough year I guess there has been some good that has come out of it. Now it can stop. No more extra expenses!!! Please!

I do feel for you friend...it has been one "hell" of a year. That made me laugh. Lets hope the bad luck streak is over and you can be on the up and up.

But yeah, on the bright side I love the Kia, I love the Stainless steel, and I REALLY love those magnet boards...now I need one.

Way to go on finishing the magnet boards - Mine are still needing the final glueing - you may have inspired me to finally get them done! Love the new fridge - that's on my wish list too
